Why is good erotica writing so hard to find?

memoriesWhy is good erotica so hard to find? I read Nin and Miller, and while I like how often Miller uses the word ‘cunt’ – it just doesn’t do it for me. I’ve put out the call on twitter a few times, asking for good erotica authors, but rarely do I ever get a tip on something that ends up being really well done.

Recently, I was given a link to a particular author on Literotica.com, and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the majority of what I read. The first story I started with was “The Proposition“, and the stories just got better from there. I wholeheartedly recommend you get over there and start reading! Now that I’ve read all of them, I’m at a loss for where to turn next.

Someone else linked me to Alt Sex Stories Text Repository and Nifty Erotic Stories Archive. I hate wading through crap to find gems. From my first glances, the sites seem to be rife with kink stories on stuff I’m not into. It is much easier to wade through crap on Tumblr and find gems because you don’t have to waste a bunch of time reading a crappy intro to a story, you instantly know if it’s hot or not. The first 90% of this story was good, even if the pace of the story was quite slow. I thought the overly chatty ending could have been left out all together, but that’s just me.

I’ve tried my hand at writing a piece of collaborative fiction, and it turned out to be a very hot story – but I haven’t shared it online anywhere just yet.

I’ve moved my Cherry Poptart, Little Annie Fanny and Ironwood comix over to my iPad the other day so I can read them properly, but they’re no substitute for really well written erotica. I’ve even gotten my hands on a soft copy of Fifty Shades of Grey to see what the buzz is all about. I haven’t read it yet, but I’ll let you know what I think when I do.

Can’t anyone help a girl out? If you’ve written something good, let me know – I’d love to read it!

I always liked Stevesaint’s work on asstr.org. Simple, well, written, hot 🙂 There are a few I go back to repeatedly. 🙂 http://www.asstr.org/files/Collections/Stevesaint/
